These are documents from the Baghdadi Jewish Community. The majority of the documents relate to the Jewish Hospital in Baghdad but included are other correspondence within the community. It also includes a letter from a German Jewish Doctor from 1933 trying to move to Baghdad.

This material includes several pamphlets and records from a school for the blind, the Marriage Relief Society for Girls, and a sewing school for girls. The records contain financial and budgetary information, donor lists, images of students, and curriculum information. Also included are correspondence between the Baghdadi Jewish community and the Iraqi government concerning the establishment and operation of these charitable institutions.

Included are requests for a telephone to be installed in a school, teacher labor issues, student transfers, receipts and invoices, thank you notes and condolences to members of the Jewish Diaspora in Europe, America, and the Middle East. The documents include an excerpt from the 1945 edition of the Biographical Encyclopedia of the World, featuring the president of the Jewish community of Baghdad, Sassoon Khedouri; a license to import one Chevrolet car from the U.S.; a wedding invitation; and several business cards of foreign dignitaries.

This is correspondence from the Iraqi government to school administrations regarding exams; student demographic information and enrollment figures; teachers’ hours and salaries; statistics; regulations; approved textbooks; school field trips; student exchange letters; an art exhibit; guidelines for technical training; and a recruitment ad for the Royal Air Force.

Other documents include correspondence to the British government to organize a Passover Seder for Jewish soldiers, scholarships to study in British schools, Baghdadi Jews abrogating their citizenship and emigrating abroad, the collection of donations for Palestinian refugees and wounded soldiers, lists of members of the Baghdadi Jewish community in detention facilities, and financial documents such as income tax reports and receipts.

These are documents from the Baghdadi Jewish Community. They include correspondence between the Iraqi Ministry of Justice, the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews, and the President of the Jewish Community regarding the rules for the election of committee members, elections and resignations, travel of committee members, endowments, and financial payments. These documents reflect the Baghdadi Jewish community's name change to the Mosaic community.

This is collected correspondence in a file folder from 1985 titled “Bulletin Condemning the Turkish Government's Policy with the Arabs”; the records themselves are from the early 1940s. They include a letter from the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior regarding flyers distributed in Mosul province condemning the Turkish government’s policy toward the Arabs and requests the Director of Mosul police to go after the distributors by mixing with students and reporting on them; a letter from the Directorate of Basrah to the Ministry of the Interior regarding the destruction of the logo sign of the British Embassy in Basrah by an Iranian individual assumed to have mental illness and sentenced to three months in prison; a letter from the British Embassy to the press attaché regarding pamphlets being sent to the office; a file folder from 1985 houses the records although the records themselves are from the early 1940s.

This is material from the Iraqi government containing correspondence regarding Iranian immigration; a sheikh’s relationship with Iranian soldiers along the border; Ja’far al-Sultān, a Kurdish rebel; and the district commissioners’ decision on the incidents in Halabja.

These are archival documents from the Iraqi government and include a report dated May 28, 1933 from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of the Interior regarding the attack by Assyrians on officers in Mosul in 1933. It mentions Mar Shamun, the Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, who was being held under house arrest.

These are archival documents from the Iraqi government and include correspondence between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iranian officials, and various government offices confirming several individual's identities, citizenship and family lineage regarding legal status in criminal court cases (1933-1938). There is one unrelated document, from 1919, from a British military official concerning the British Club in Basrah.

This Iraqi government correspondence marked “Special Office” between the Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iraqi consulates, and other offices regarding visa applications for Iranian scholars. The documents also include a list of Iranian religious scholars that traveled to Iraq.

It contains: Law 87/1973, an amendment to the Unified Labor Code law 151/1970; Law 702/1973, regarding the Agrarian Reform law 117/1970; Instructions for Law 71/1973, which amend instructions 9/1970, pertaining to the Agricultural Council; Law 89/1973, amending the 54/1952 law on Tobacco; and Law 44/1973, related to law 63/1958 on borrowing and issuing treasury bonds. There are also government announcements, lists of political appointees and retirees to various government ministries, and changes in policy at various government agencies.

These are archival documents from the Baghdadi Jewish community that consist of notices of community meeting agendas and meeting minutes, addressing a variety of issues including school staff, elected community positions, Kosher food, totals of butchered Kosher meat for the meat tax, and budget planning. There is a small booklet titled “Statues for the Jewish Orphans Charitable Organization, 1948.” There are documents listing members of the community involved in different community or religious organizations, including various school subcommittees and members of particular synagogues. There is a copy of the booklet titled: "The Jewish Community Law # 77 and the Jewish Community System #36 for the year 1931" and is printed in both Arabic and Judeo-Arabic. The laws were published in an Iraqi newspaper in 1931. This was published in Baghdad by the Jewish Charity Council and there are several copies of the laws in the collection.

These are documents regarding the Iraqi citizenship laws from 1963, based on the constitutional laws of the National Supreme Revolutionary Council and the Ministry of the Interior.
